Philadelphia Flyers 2022 third round pick, Devin Kaplan, shines for BU in Hockey East Title game.
Drafted 69th overall in the 2022 NHL Entry Draft by the Philadelphia Flyers, Devin Kaplan entered the 2022-23 season at Boston University as a freshman.
After two seasons and 52 games with the U.S. National Development team where he would accumulate 14 goals and 52 points, Kaplan would have arguably the best season of his young career. This season with BU, Kaplan finished fifth on the Terriers in goals with 10. He would also amass 13 assists en route to BU’s 10th Hockey East playoff title.
During the title game win, Kaplan had an assist on BU’s first goal and would score a goal of his own to tie the score at 2-2 and ultimately send the game to overtime.

Montreal Canadiens prospect, Lane Hutson, would eventually score the game-winning-goal for BU in overtime and send the crowd and team into a frenzy.
Kaplan would later be announced as a forward on the Hockey East All-Tournament Team.
Major accolades and big time point production when it mattered most from the Flyers 2022 third round pick.
Here’s hoping we see more of that in the upcoming College Hockey NCAA Tournament.
Boston University’s first game is this Thursday March 23, against Western Michigan, the alma mater of current Flyers, Wade Allison.
