The Lehigh Valley Phantoms comeback against the Hershey Bears fell short Wednesday night.

Tanner Laczynski scored a łatę third period goal, his third of the playoffs, but it was not enough as Hershey goalie, Hunter Shepard stopped 30 of 31 shots sent his way. Bobby Brink and Ronnie Attard each picked up assists on the lone Phantoms goal.

Hendrix Lapierre got the scoring started fresh off rejoining the Bears after playing with the Washington Capitals during their first round series against the New York Rangers. The 2020 22nd overall pick had a goal and an assist during the first round sweep.

Henrik Rybinski scored what would end up being the game-winning-goal for Hershey late in the second period with assists from Matt Strome and Bogdan Trineyev. Rybinski is a former 2019 5th round pick of the Florida Panthers.

Phantoms goalie Cal Petersen stopped 26 of 28 shots in the loss.

Game two is set for Saturday night at 7pm in Hershey.
