Philadelphia Flyers vs Florida Panthers

The Flyers won back to back games for just the second time in 2022 and are now up to five wins total in the calendar year. The Panthers on the other hand have won four games in the last six days. All odds per Barstool Sportsbook.

Game Lines

The Flyers (+290) moneyline reflects just how little faith the oddsmakers have in them and how far apart these two teams are presently, in terms of both talent and expectations. Philadelphia’s recent road woes don’t offer much hope for them tonight, having lost nine straight away from Broad St, their last road victory came against the Kraken on December 29th. They’re 8-22 in their last thirty away games overall and 5-16 in their last twenty-one as road underdogs.

Entering this contest as heavy favorites the Panthers (-420) are expected to win this one handily. For good reason too, Florida is 44-10 in their last fifty-four games as home favorites, 40-12 in their last fifty-two home contests overall and 49-18 in their last sixty-seven against teams with a winning percentage below .400. Head to head between these teams the home team is 10-3 in their last thirteen and in addition the Panthers are 5-1 at home in the last six versus Philadelphia.

It’s obvious that the safe money is on the Panthers outright tonight but with a line like that it would take a hefty bet to make some real cash, so let’s take a look at the Flyers puckline, +1.5 (+116). In five of their last seven games Philadelphia has won or lost by just a goal, additionally Florida, despite how impressive they’ve been all season at home, has dropped three of their last five games at home. Also the Flyers are 2-1-1 in their last four matchups with the Panthers. Flyers +1.5 tonight.

The 6.5 (O -137, U +105) total for tonight’s contest is more reflective of Florida’s offensive prowess than anything the Flyers bring to the table right now. Eight of the Panthers last nine games have seen goal totals of 7 or more, the Panthers themselves have scored 4+ goals in six of their last nine. Philadelphia for their part has seen their games hit 7+ goals in two of their last four. The over is 4-0 in the Flyers last four road games and 20-6-2 in the Panthers last twenty-eight overall. Take the over tonight.
