Flyers sign defenseman Egor Zamula to a one-year contract extension.
After a year where Egor Zamula somewhat bounced between Philadelphia and Lehigh Valley, the Flyers predictably re signed Zamula for next season to a one-year deal worth $775,000. (Thanks Tom)
Zamula should see more playing time with the Flyers. At the very least on the bottom pairing.
Born March 30, 2000, Zamula was not drafted and was signed by former Flyers GM Ron Hextall on Sept. 18 2018.
Having played in a career 26 games with the Flyers, Zamula has just four assists. He did however find success with the Phantoms last season as he racked up 19 points in 44 games before injuring his shoulder right at the end of the season.
Zamula is seen as a somewhat offensive, puck moving defenseman who is still getting acclimated to the NHL style of play. In my opinion it seemed like Coach John Tortorella liked what he saw from Zamula.
Next season however does somewhat seem like a make or break year as the Flyers have some defense coming up through the ranks.
