Yet another action-packed night of hockey as the Oilers triumphed over the Kings, Dallas emerged victorious against Vegas, and the Phantoms kicked off their second-round series against Hershey.
The Dallas Stars won their third straight game to take a 3-2 series lead over the defending Stanley Cup Champs. Mark Stone got the scoring started on the power play to give Vegas an early 1-0 lead. Dallas would then score twice in a three-minute span to take a brief 2-1 before William Carrier knotted the game back up at 2-2.
Jason Robertson scored the go-ahead goal on the power play, his third goal of the series, and the Stars were able to hold on thanks to 25 saves on 27 shots from Jake Oettinger. The series heads back to Vegas for game six on Friday.

The Edmonton Oilers handled the Los Angeles Kings to win their first round series 4-1 and advance to the second round. They’ll take on the winner of the Vancouver and Nashville series. Leon Draisaitl scored twice, assisted each time by Connor McDavid and Evan Bouchard. Bouchard finished with three assists, giving him a total of eight assists in the series.
Calder Cup Playoffs
The Phantoms began their second round series against the Hershey Bears on Wednesday night and fell behind 2-0 heading into the third period. Tanner Laczynski pulled them to within a goal but it was not enough as Hunter Shepard locked all windows and doors to help propel Hershey to a 1-0 series lead. Game two is Saturday night in Hershey.
U18 Worlds
Team USA faces off against Team Switzerland in the tournament quarterfinals on Thursday, May 2. USA went 4-0 in group play, outscoring their opponents 33-7. The Swiss finished fourth in Group B as they went 1-2-1 in group play and were outscored 8-16.
USA’s James Hagens leads the tournament in goals (7), assists (9), and points (16).
