“The Philadelphia Flyers announced today they have signed forward Zack MacEwen to a one-year contract with an average annual value (AAV) of $925,000, according to President of Hockey Operations and General Manager, Chuck Fletcher.”
Claimed off waivers from the Vancouver Canucks on October 13, 2021 last season, Flyers forward Zack MacEwen endeared himself rather quickly to the Philly faithful. In 75 games played for the Flyers last season, MacEwen racked up 110 penalty minutes to go along with three goals and a career high nine points.
After only being a Flyer for a mere 75 games and starting the season up in Vancouver, MacEwen would be named the winner of the Gene Hart Memorial Award as the player who demonstrated the most “Heart” during the season as voted by the members of the Fan Club during their monthly meetings.
MacEwen follows Tanner Laczynski and Owen Tippett as players who have re signed with the Flyers within the last week.
