Tank Update

The Flyers won but Tuesday night was just all around not a great night for the tank.

Columbus won with late game magic

Columbus got a late third period goal with under a minute remaining to send the game against Washington into overtime.

Boone Jenner tied the score at 6-6 with the goalie pulled and Jack Roslovic won it in OT for the last place Blue Jackets.

The win boosts their record to 22-41-7 and they now sit with 51 points, just two behind San Jose.

Montreal topples Tampa Bay…

Montreal COULD HAVE passed the Flyers last night but they jumped out to a 2-0 lead early in the first period. Tampa would cut the Habs lead to a goal twice during the game but could never get over the hump as Montreal went on to win 3-2.

Sam Montembeault stopped 31 Lightning shots in the win, boosting Montreal’s record to 28-37-6, good for 62 points.

Arizona’s win streak snapped by Winnipeg

Arizona’s four game winning streak was snapped against Winnipeg last night. The Jets took an early 2-0 lead and that would be all the scoring they needed as Vezina candidate, Connor Hellebuyck, would stop 29 of 30 shots sent his way.

A Flyers win coupled with an Arizona loss means the Coyotes are just a point ahead of the Flyers with 65.

The Coyotes fall to 27-33-11 on the season.

Anaheim trounced by Calgary

The Flames raced to a 3-0 lead and never looked back as they blitzed Anaheim 5-1 Tuesday night. The loss means Anaheim remains at 56 points and with the Flyers now eight points ahead, it’s unlikely they’ll win enough games to pass Philadelphia.

Nick Ritchie, who was traded for his brother at the trade deadline, scored his third goal in seven games for the Flames.

Anaheim now sits at 23-38-10 with 11 games remaining on their schedule.
