NHL Daily Recap for all games which took place on Sunday January 23, 2022.


Kasperi Kapanen (9) and Jeff Carter (12) scored 9 seconds apart in the 3rd period to help the Penguins overcome a 2 goal deficit against the Jets, while Sidney Crosby scored the lone goal in the shootout. With the 2 points, Pittsburgh moved into sole possession of 2nd place in the Metropolitan division (26-10-5).

Tim Stützle (7) scored what proved to be the game-winning-goal in the 2nd period and Anton Forsberg saved 35 of 36 shots as the Senators defeated the Blue Jackets on Sunday by a score of 2-1.

Jesper Bratt (12,13) scored 2 first period goals for the Devils but it wasn’t enough as Viktor Arvidsson (10) and Carl Grundstrom (6) tacked on goals to lift the Kings to a 3-2 victory in New Jersey.

Jonathon Huberdeau (16) tallied a goal and 2 assists but it was not enough as the Seattle Kraken upset the Florida Panthers at home Sunday night, 5-3. Mason Appleton (3) recorded a goal and an assist in the victory for Seattle.

Brayden Schenn scored (9) his 4th goal in his last 3 games as the Blues went on to defeat the Canucks 3-1 after being heavily outshot 39-17. Ville Husso backstopped the Blues to victory as he saved 38 of 39 shots sent his way.
