In the “NHL Daily Recap” you’ll be quickly brought up to speed on everything you missed from last night’s NHL games.


Marcus Foligno scored his 16th goal of the season Saturday night to stymie the Chicago Blackhawks in overtime, 4-3. Minnesota has now won 5 of their last 6 games and had points in 6 straight games (5-0-1).

Matt Duchene had a 3 point night, including 2 goals (18,19), during a 4-1 victory for Nashville over Detroit. Juuse Saros stopped 28 of 29 shots during the win. 

Mitch Marner kicked off the scoring with a short handed goal (9) in Long Island and Pierre Engvall scored the go-ahead goal to ensure victory for the Toronto Maple Leafs Saturday night against the Islanders. Backup net minder, Petr Mrazek stopped 27 of 28 shots during the win.

Alexander Ovechkin scored twice (28,29), to help the Capitals get to overtime where Nicklas Backstrom scored the game winner to complete the 3-2 comeback in Washington over the Senators.

Chris Kreider had a 4 point night, including a hat trick (27,28,29) as the Rangers dispatched of the Coyotes 7-3 on Saturday and now sit alone atop the Metro division at 27-11-4, good enough for 58 points.

Nate Bastian scored twice (7,8) while Jack Hughes potted his 10th goal of the season in route to a 7-4 New Jersey victory over Carolina on Saturday night. Goaltender Jon Gillies also picked up his first win in the NHL since the 2017-18 season with Calgary as he stopped 28 of 32 shots sent his way.

Gabriel Landeskog ensured the Avalanche would escape with 2 points when he scored the game winning goal in OT Saturday night against Montreal. Canadiens goaltender, Cayden Primeau, made 43 saves in the loss.

David Pastrnak ripped home his 19th goal of the season and Tuuka Rask stopped 22 of 24 shots to propel Boston to a 3-2 victory over Winnipeg.

Peyton Krebs scored the first 2 goals of his NHL Career during a 6-3 win over the Philadelphia Flyers. It was the first time all season Buffalo had scored more than 5 goals in a game. Flyers Captain, Claude Giroux, scored twice in the loss (13,14), Philadelphia’s 11th straight defeat.

Ross Colton scored twice as Tampa Bay scored 4 first period goals Saturday night against San Jose en route to a 7-1 victory. Backup net minder, Brian Elliot stopped 27 of 28 shots in the victory.

Leon Draisaitl capped a 4 point night with 2 goals as Edmonton edged Calgary 5-3 on Saturday night at home.
