The final rankings of the regular season are here! Aren’t you excited? You should be if you’re reading this. In this week’s rankings instead of a comment next to the team, I’m going to tell you whether or not I believe said team has a legitimate shot at winning Lord Stanley’s Cup or not. Before you ready the rankings below, just remember I’m releasing this before the Avalanche and Golden Knights finish their regular seasons so things could change later this week. Ready to be surprised?

 

  1. Colorado Avalanche (37-12-4) – Stanley Cup Favorite
  2. Carolina Hurricanes (36-12-8) – Stanley Cup Favorite
  3. Vegas Golden Knights (39-14-2) – Stanley Cup Favorite
  4. Florida Panthers (37-14-5) – Dark Horse Stanley Cup Contender
  5. Tampa Bay Lightning (36-17-3) – Stanley Cup Contender
  6. Pittsburgh Penguins (37-16-3) – Stanley Cup Contender
  7. Toronto Maple Leafs (35-13-6) – Stanley Cup Contender
  8. Washington Capitals (36-15-5) – Stanley Cup Contender
  9. Minnesota Wild (35-14-5) – Dark Horse Stanley Cup Contender
  10. New York Islanders (32-17-7) – Playoff Team

Honorable Mentions: Boston Bruins (33-16-7) Playoff Team, Edmonton Oilers (34-18-2) Playoff Team

Nashville, St.Louis, Montreal, and Winnipeg all made the playoffs as well. St.Louis and Nashville have been playing a lot better of late but we should expect early exits from Winnipeg and Montreal.
