Happy birthday to one of the toughest guys in the NHL.
Born on February 22, 1991, Deslauriers has endeared himself to Flyers fans since the day he signed here. An absolute beauty by every definition of the word.
Nic Deslauriers was brought in as part of John Tortorella’s “hard to play against” roster overhaul during last off-season and has come as advertised as the 6’1 220 lb winger has brutalized opponents all season long.
Here he is beating the shit out of 6’7 Jamie Oleksiak. My God, what a specimen.

Nic was kind enough to jump on an episode with us on High and Wide Radio over the summer, the same week he signed in Philadelphia. Watch the episode below on YouTube or click the Spotify link higher up on the page.
Deslauriers recorded his first point as a Flyers on October 27th and would score his first goal as a Flyer just a few days later on October 29th.
Here’s his most recent snipe against Calgary from Monday. What a laser beam, eh?

Personally I’ve been a fan of Deslauriers even before he became a Flyer and I loved his signing over the summer. He’s more than just a brawler. The man has worked tirelessly on his game to remain an NHL player and is relied upon to play important PK minutes for the Orange and Black.
So with that I’ll end with saying from all of us at High and Wide Hockey…
HAPPY BIRTHDAY NIC!
