Tampa Bay Lightning @ Philadelphia Flyers

Coming off a hard fought win against the Calgary Flames the boys in orange and black host the Tampa Bay Lightning tonight and we’re not just looking to win the game, we want to win some money too. All odds from Draftkings Sportsbook.

  • Money Line and Total

The Flyers continued their now nine game streak of alternating wins and losses with a 2-1 win against the Flames on Tuesday and they enter tonight’s match up as the underdog at +110. This is the sixth straight game the Flyers will be the underdog. Philadelphia continues to play well in front of the home crowd where they’re 4-2-1. Tampa Bay has won three of their last four overall and they’re currently 4-1-1 on the road this year. In the last eight meetings between these two teams the favorite is 7-1.

Tampa Bay at -130 looks like like the better bet, but if you want to put your money on the home team, the puck line for the Flyers, +1.5 -240, seems pretty safe. Philadelphia has looked great at home and they’ve lost by 2 or more goals just four times this year, it seems unlikely to see them lose by multiple goals in their own building tonight.

The total is set at 5.5 -105 tonight and deciphering which way to go leads to two different narratives. On the one hand both the Flyers and Lightning have seen the under be scorching hot in their recent games. For Tampa Bay the under is 5-1 in their last six games overall and also 5-1 in last six against Eastern Conference opponents. On the Flyers side the under is 4-0 in their last four home games and 8-1 in their last nine games overall.

However when looking at these two teams head to head, the over is 4-1 in the last four meetings in Philadelphia and 37-17-4 in the last fifty eight games overall between these two. Despite the lack of goal totals, the Flyers’ last six games have had combined shot totals of 77, 64, 68, 69, 64 and 73, that amount of shots on goal typically leads to a plethora of goal scoring so despite the recent trends for both teams, the over looks good tonight.

  • Player Props

Victor Hedman Over 2.5 shots on goal +105

I should really change this section to “Shots on Goal Props” because that all I put here but for good reason. Shots on goal are easier to predict then goals, assists and points. Hedman is averaging 2.71 shots on goal for the year and he’s had 3+ shots on goal in each of his last four games, add in that the Flyers are averaging 33.57 shots against a game and 3 shots on goal seems very reasonable for TB’s top defenseman.

  • Game Props

Both teams to score 2+ goals, Yes -175

This is a bet that pairs nicely with the total for this game, if we believe in the over tonight it’s going to most likely take both teams to get us there. Five out of the last seven meetings between these two teams has seen each team score at least 2 goals.
