Gambler’s Guide: Pittsburgh Penguins vs Philadelphia Flyers

Pittsburgh Penguins vs Philadelphia Flyers

The Flyers wrapped up their road trip through the West Coast with a 4-1 loss to the Ducks and now they welcome the red hot Penguins to the Wells Fargo Center. The Gambler’s Guide went 2 for 5 in Anaheim and looks to right the ship tonight. All odds from Draftkings Sportsbook.

Money Line and Total

It is not surprising at all that the Flyers (+195) are the underdog once again tonight and given their depleted roster and recent performances it’s not hard to see why. The trends spell trouble for the orange and black tonight, Philadelphia is 16-35 in their last fifty one games against teams with winning records, 0-4 in their last four as a home underdog, 2-7 in their last nine on one day rest and 2-5 in their last seven at home.

Winners of nine straight it’s no surprise the Penguins (-235) enter tonight’s contest as the favorite. Pittsburgh is 14-3 in their last seventeen overall, 5-0 in their last five as road favorites, 12-1 in their last thirteen following a win and 5-0 in their last five versus teams with a losing record.

Things don’t look good at all for the Flyers tonight and the Penguins puck line, -1.5 (+110), is very enticing tonight. The Flyers have lost their last two games by 2+ goals and Pittsburgh has won both of their games coming out of the break by 2 or more goals. Pens -1.5 tonight.

The total for this matchup is set at 6 (O -120, U +100) tonight and the over looks inviting. On Philadelphia’s side of things the over is 4-0 in the last four that the Flyers are home underdogs, 7-0 in the last seven Flyers home games and 5-2 the last seven times the Flyers played a team with a winning record. The over is 9-4 the last thirteen times that the Pens were road favorites and 8-3-1 in Pittsburgh’s last twelve matchups against the Metro. Head to head between these two the over is 4-0 in Philly and 8-2 overall. Take the over tonight.

Player Props

  • Joel Farabee Over 1.5 Shots on Goal (-165)

Farabee is currently averaging 1.69 shots on goal for the season with 74 shot attempts, 2.84/game. He’s reached 2+ shots on goal in three of his last five games and with the numerous amount of players out of the lineup tonight expect a much bigger role for Farabee.

Team Props

  • Penguins Over 3.5 Goals (-125)

Pittsburgh has scored 4+ goals in six of their last nine games, including 5+ goals in each of their last two games. While the Flyers have given up 4+ goals in back to back games and are fielding a borderline AHL roster tonight.

Game Props

  • First Goal Before 9:30 (-135)

The Flyers have seen the first goal before this mark in eight of their last nine games, we’re going to keep riding this streak as long as we can. The Pens have also seen their first goal beat this mark in three of their last four contests.

The Five for Tonight

  1. Penguins -1.5 (+110)
  2. Over 6 (-120)
  3. Joel Farabee Over 1.5 Shots on Goal (-165)
  4. Pens Over 3.5 Goals (-165)
