Philadelphia Flyers vs New York Islanders

The Flyers have the first of back to back games against the Islanders today. Philadelphia lost 3-2 to the Rangers on Saturday, extending their losing streak to seven straight games. The Gambler’s Guide was 3 for 5 against the Rangers.

Money Line and Total

Continuing a trend that has been ongoing all season the Flyers (+170) are the underdogs in tonight’s matchup. Philadelphia is 7-20 in their last twenty-seven overall, 0-4 in their last four road games and 1-6 in their last seven against the Metro division.  Th Flyers have also gone 0-5 in their last five meetings against the Islanders.

Entering today’s game as the favorite the Islanders (-200) have been strong both as a favorite and at home. New York is 5-0 in their last five as a favorite and 5-2 in their last seven at home. The Islanders are also 5-2 in their last seven Eastern Conference contests and they’re 7-2 in their last nine against the Flyers in New York.

Just about everything is telling us that the Islanders are going to win the game tonight but looking at the recent games for both teams show two other trends developing the Flyers haven’t lost by 2 or more goals in any of their three most recent games. While the Islanders haven’t defeated a team by multiple goals in two and half weeks. The Flyers +1.5 (-150) is the bet tonight.

With the total sitting at 5.5 (O +110, U -130) the under looks good tonight. The under is 4-0 in the last four head to head games between these two. On Philadelphia’s side the under is 5-1 in their last six road games and 4-1 in the last five overall. For the Islanders the under is 4-0 in their last four overall, 6-1 in the last seven versus the Metro and 4-0 in their last four as favorites. Take the under tonight.
