Gambler’s Guide Philadelphia Flyers @ Tampa Bay Lightning

Philadelphia Flyers @ Tampa Bay Lightning

Our Philadelphia Flyers (8-5-3) head down to Florida for a matchup with the Tampa Bay Lightning (10-4-3). The Gambler’s Guide has been running hot lately going 10 out of 15 in the Flyers’ last three games. All odds from Draftkings Sportsbook.

Money Line and Total

The Flyers finally experienced back to back losses after dropping games to Boston and Tampa Bay. Philadelphia is the underdog again tonight (+150) this is the tenth time in the last eleven games the Flyers will be the underdog. An interesting trend for the Flyers is that they’re 11-1 following a home loss of 3 or more goals, they’re also 6-1 on the year after a loss. Also going in the Flyers’ favor tonight is that the road team is 4-1 in the last five meetings between these two teams.

The Lightning being the favorite (-170) is good news for them since the favorite is 8-1 in the last nine meetings between these teams. Tampa Bay is 12-3 in the last fifteen games against the Flyers and they’re 19-7 in their last twenty six games against the Metropolitan division. These teams seem to always play each other tight, five of the last eight contests between these two have been decided by 1 goal or less. Just like two games ago the Tampa Bay money line looks good, but the Flyers will keep this tight and if you want to root for the good guys, the Flyers +1.5 (-170) is appealing.

The total is set at 5.5 for tonight’s contest. The over is getting hot for the Flyers having gone 3-1 in their last four games. The story is the same for the Lightning with the over being 3-0 in their last three games. Also historically the over has done great between these two teams currently sitting at 38-17-4 in their last fifty nine matchups. The over is the play again here tonight.

Player Props

  • Claude Giroux Over 2.5 shots on goal -125/Over 0.5 power play points +280

Going back to the well here, G has had 3+ shots on goal in five of his last seven games and in even though he only had 2 shots on goal in his last game he missed the net on three occasions. The captain is also logging 18:12 ATOI with a team leading 3:24 ATOI on the power play. When these teams met last time the Flyers had three power play opportunities, cashing in on one of them and the Lightning are averaging 3.29 PPOA a game so expect Giroux to have plenty of chances to pick up a power play point.

The Five for the night

  1. Tampa Bay money line (-170)
  2. Philadelphia +1.5 (-170)
  3. Over 5.5 (-110)
  4. Claude Giroux Over 2.5 shots on goal (-125)
  5. Claude Giroux Over 0.5 power play points (+280)
