Philadelphia Flyers @ Montreal Canadiens

The Flyers are streaking right now having won three in a row as they head across the Northern border to take on the Canadiens. Montreal hasn’t won a game this month, going 0-5-1 to start off December. The Gambler’s Guide went 3 out of 5 in the Devils game and is 8 out of 10 over the last two games.

Money Line and Total

For the second game in a row the Flyers (-140) enter tonight’s contest as the favorite. The recent trends are starting to tell a positive story for the orange and black, they’re 7-2 in their last nine games against teams with a losing record and 14-5 in their last nineteen as a road favorite. More specifically they’re 11-5 in their sixteen against the Habs with 4 wins in their last four meetings in Montreal and the road team is 5-0 in the last five matchups between these two.

The Canadiens (+120) are a home underdog tonight and that doesn’t spell good news for them, currently they’re 1-4 in their last five as home dogs. They’re also 5-16 in their last twenty-one games on one day’s rest and 8-20 in their last twenty-eight versus Eastern Conference opponents.

The Flyers are finding their stride right now and Montreal has been a punching bag for the entire league this season, there’s no reason the Flyers shouldn’t take this one. Philadelphia outright tonight.

The total is set at 5.5 (O -110, U -110) and once again the over looks like a strong play. On Philadelphia’s side the over is 4-0 following a win, 5-1 in their last six games overall and 9-0 in their last nine contests as road favorites. The over is 4-0 in Montreal’s last five contests against the Metro division. The over is the bet tonight.

Game Props

  • First Goal Before 9:30 (-120)

The guide is going to ride this streak until it fails, Philadelphia’s games have seen the first goal scored before this mark in three straight and ten of their last eleven games. With the way both of these teams play defense there’s no reason to expect it to take awhile for the scoring to begin in this one.

  • Both Teams to Score 2+ Goals (-160)

This game sets up beautifully for a high scoring affair, the Flyers offense, 4+ goals in four of their last five games, has been hot lately and their defense has continued to underwhelm, 3+ goals allowed in eight of their last nine. The Habs have scored at least 2 goals in three of their last five games and have allowed 2+ goals in nineteen straight games.

Team Props

  • Flyers Over 3.5 Goals +145

Philadelphia has score 4+ goals in four of their last five games. Meanwhile the Habs have allowed 4+ goals in four of their last six games. Philadelphia’s offense has proven to be streaky this year, they already had a run of scoring 4 or more goals in five games earlier this season, expect their current streak to continue tonight.

The Five for Tonight

1. Flyers (-140)
2. Over 5.5 (-110)
3. First Goal Before 9:30 (-120)
4. Both Teams to Score 2+ Goals (-160)
