Gambler’s Guide Ottawa Senators @ Philadelphia Flyers

Ottawa Senators @ Philadelphia Flyers

The Flyers three game winning streak came to an end at the hands of the Canadiens, but they did manage to steal a point and return home for a matchup with the red hot Senators. The Gambler’s Guide went 2 out of 5 in Montreal but is 10 out of 15 over the last three games. All odds from Betway Sportsbook.

Money Line and Total

Philadelphia (1.80) enters tonight’s contest as the favorite for a third straight game. The Flyers are 5-2 in their last seven against the Senators and the favorite is 15-5 in their last twenty games between these two. However the Flyers are just 3-11 in their last fourteen games overall.

The Senators have been surging lately, 5-2 in their last seven overall despite dropping their last game to the Lightning. Ottawa is 3-9 in their last twelve on one day’s rest and have struggled on the road this year, 4-8-1.

The trends and numbers are telling stories of two teams that appear to have split personalities and it’s difficult to determine what team truly has an edge, for games like this it’s good to proceed with caution. The Flyers seem like they can take this one, but the Sens keep it close, Sens +1.5 (1.46) is the bet.

6.5 (O 1.95 U 1.87) is the total for tonight’s matchup, that’s a high number but the over has been hot for both teams lately. The over is 14-3 in Ottawa’s last seventeen games against the Metropolitan Division, while Flyers’ games have hit the over in six straight home games and the over is 5-2 in their last seven overall. 7 goals is a lot but Flyers games have seen 7 or more in five of their last seven contests. It’s the over again tonight.

Player Props

  • Kevin Hayes Over 1.5 Shots on Goal (1.50)

Hayes is averaging exactly 2 shots on goal in the games he’s played in this year and he’s starting to look like himself again. The Senators are averaging 33.51 shots on goal against per game this year, Hollywood Hayes should get plenty of chances to get the puck on net.

Team Props

  • Senators 32+ Shots on Goal (1.85)

Ottawa has reached or exceeded this total in two of their last four games. However what is really enticing about this one is the Flyers shots against totals. They average 34.71 shots against per game on the season, in their last four games they’ve seen an average of 35 shots against and they’ve given up 40+ shots in three of their last six.

Game Props

  • Total Shots on Goal Over 58.5 (1.80)

The Flyers defensive woes were discussed above so they should let the Senators hold up their part of the bargain to hit this number. But both teams are playing in games these days that are featuring heighten shot levels, Philadelphia’s games have hit this total in three of their last four and eight of their last ten, while Ottawa’s games have done it in six of their last ten.
