New Jersey Devils @ Philadelphia Flyers

Finding themselves in unfamiliar territory, on a two game winning streak, our Flyers host the New Jersey Devils tonight. They’ve dropped their last two games against the Devils, both in New Jersey, hopefully playing in the comforts of their own home can reverse their fortunes. The Gambler’s Guide is rolling right now, having had two perfect nights in the last four games, let’s keep it going tonight. All odds from Draftkings Sportsbook.

Money Line and Total

Philadelphia (-125) enters tonight’s contest as the favorite and well rested coming off of two days rest. Unfortunately when you’ve recently had a ten game losing streak none of the betting trends look very favorable, however the home team is 6-1 in the last 7 games between these two. There’s also some other good news for the Flyers, the Devils are 2-5-2 in their last nine games, the bad news is that those two wins are against the Flyers.

The underdog in tonight’s contest, New Jersey (+105) hopes to continue their recent success against the Flyers. They’re 5-1 in their last 6 contests with Philadelphia, but they’re 7-19 in their last 26 away games and 15-39 in their last 54 games as the underdog.

The trends show an inconclusive picture and the Flyers seem to be responding to the firing of their head coach, it is also difficult to beat the same team three times in two weeks, there’s a reason sweeps in a playoff series are rare. For those the reasons the Flyers outright is the pick tonight.

The total is set at 6 (O -105, U -115) for the contest tonight and the over is looking good. The over is 4-0 in the last 4 games the Devils were the underdog and 5-0 the last five times they were a road underdog. The over is also 5-0 in the Flyers last 5 home games and 10-2-1 in the last 13 games they were the home favorite. Even more encouraging the over is 5-2-1 in the last 8 matchups between these teams. Take the over tonight.
