Former Flyers Forward, Simon Gagne, helped coach the Quebec Remparts to a Memorial Cup victory Sunday night.

Quebec has won their first Memorial Cup in 17 years as Simon Gagne assisted Remparts head coach Patrick Roy in the victory.

Gagne signed on to be an assistant coach with the Remparts on July 22, 2022. The same Quebec Remparts he scored 80 goals and 189 points over the course of two seasons for from 1997-1999.

Drafted 22 overall in the 1998 NHL Entry Draft, Gagne would make the Flyers roster the next season at just 19. Gagne would score 20 goals during his rookie season. He’d also score 20 or more goals seven times during his 10 seasons with the Flyers.

During the 2005-06 and 2006-07 seasons, Gagne would score 40 plus goals in back-to-back seasons. His 47 goals in 05-06 are the most goals scored in a season since John LeClair’s 51 in 1997-98.

Simon Gagne is beloved by fans of the Flyers for many reasons by maybe none more than when he scored the game-winning-goal against the Boston Bruins in game seven of the Flyers epic 0-3 comeback series win.
