The Philadelphia Flyers signed their 2021 3rd round pick, Alexei Kolosov, to a 3-year Entry-Level Contract on Saturday night.

After finding out 2015 7th round pick, Ivan Fedotov, had signed a 2-year contract with his KHL team early Saturday, the Flyers made sure to sign one of their other KHL goalies later Saturday evening.

The situation with Fedotov was somewhat resolved, albeit not in the Flyers favor, as CSKA Moscow had decided that Fedotov’s contract had expired with the Flyers. Thus making Fedotov a player without a team, making him free to sign an extension with CSKA Moscow.

It was said earlier in the off-season that the Flyers had “tolled” Fedotov’s contract into the 2023-24 season since he was enlisted into the Russian army for his mandatory year of military service.

Long story short, the Fedotov situation doesn’t look great and he may never play a game for the Flyers.

On the flip-side, 21-year old Belarusian net minder Kolosov, put pen to paper and is signed for three seasons which come with a 925k cap hit per season.

Kolosov finished last season with a 2.55 GAA and a .912 SV% as he carved out his best professional season to date.

The 6-1 goalie from Minsk, Belarus will likely start and finish the upcoming 2023-24 season with his KHL club, Dynamo Minsk, but there is a realistic possibility that he joins the Flyers organization prior to the 2024-25 NHL season.
