Oh my, holy cannoli.
Tree trunks. Absolute behemoths. Wildebeests. Watermelon crushers. The thighs that will hypnotize.
Quite literally, the legs that just won’t quit (for 371 consecutive games played).
I mean, cmon…what are we thinking…at least a 500lb squat, right?
Leg Press nearing 1000lb? Calf raises…push…easy 400lb…and come on, HOW ABOUT THOSE QUAD PRESSES? EASILY 350lb for our boy.
Am I low-balling Ivan? Because I’m not going to lie, I’ve been staring at this picture for longer than I should be. It’s captivating in a sense. Kind of like when the rocket launched in October Sky. Not a Gyllenhaal fan? Never mind.
COME ON, IVAN. Ya gotta tell us those hidden secrets, cousin. Help us out. We need a Provorov training guide on all the goods.
The calves sculpted from God’s fingertips. The quads that just won’t quit. The legs like a fuckin’ clydesdale. The All-Russian buns of steel (Jason Akeson would like a word).
What would New Jersey Devils’ 180lb Jack Hughes think when looking at those things? Talk about striking fear in the eyes of a lamb. Hughes has no business competing against Provorov’s gargantuan lower-half.
We have all heard of the Ivan Provorov’s off-season workout routine.
If you need a reference, here is a quote from fellow NHLer and Provorov’s off-season workout partner, Mikhail Sergachev in 2016 when they were both 19 YEARS OLD.
Mikhail Sergachev+Ivan Provorov were told by their teams they're starting in the NHL. You won't believe what they did this summer. INSANE pic.twitter.com/evQunWeEAo

You know, just your casual 4 hour gym day…followed by an hour of biking…followed by a quick boxing sesh….followed by more running….followed by some on-ice training.
If he was doing this at 19, I quiver at what Provorov could be doing now after 5 years in the show.
However, according to an interview with Kevin Hayes on the “Spittin’ Chiclets Podcast” (Episode 256 at 35:18), Provorov loves one thing: ice cream.
I mean, just a casual guy. He’s just like you and me. He loves ice cream. I love ice cream! What a guy.
Also according to Hayes, “This guy is an animal. Mark my words he’s going to win the Norris Trophy one of these years”.
He goes on to say, Provorov has “every coach you can think of” he goes on to list them out, “skating coach, biking coach, yoga coach, sprinting coach, stretching coach” Holy, nuts. ANIMAL.
COMMITMENT. DEFENSEMAN #1. He’s ours. I’m fired up.
PROVOROV NORRIS 2022.
