In their final road game, the Flyers aimed to end an 8-game losing streak by defeating the New York Rangers at Madison Square Garden. With 83 points this season, the Flyers currently sit outside of the playoffs and will need assistance from other teams along with more wins to secure a spot. Will they manage to clinch a playoff berth?
Cam York gave the Flyers a 1-0 lead at the 4:21 mark of the first period, receiving a cross-ice pass from Travis Konecny and scoring with a wrist shot past Rangers goaltender Jonathan Quick’s glove.

The Rangers received their first power play at 8:25 of the first period after Scott Laughton was called for holding, but it was cut short by Artemi Panarin’s interference penalty, leading to a 4-on-4 situation. Despite subsequent power plays for both teams, no further goals were scored in the first period.
In the second period, Bobby Brink extended the Flyers’ lead to 2-1 at 3:29 with a goal past Quick’s glove, assisted by Ryan Poehling. Konecny gave the Flyers a 3-1 lead at the 19:13 mark of the second period with a wrist shot over Quick’s glove, set up by Poehling’s well-executed cross-ice pass.
In the third period, Noah Cates scored at 5:56, assisted by Sean Couturier and Travis Sanheim, to make it 4-1 Flyers. Goaltender Sam Ersson made 24 saves on 25 shots, while Quick struggled with 23 saves on 27 shots. The Flyers’ power play went 0 for 4, but their penalty kill succeeded 3 out of 4 times. This victory was crucial for the Flyers, keeping their playoff hopes alive with 2 vital points.
