Alex Bump’s Heroics Not Enough as Western Michigan Fall Short in OT

Despite Flyers Prospect Alex Bump’s offensive efforts, Western Michigan couldn’t hold off Michigan State’s late comeback resulting in the Broncos’ elimination from the tournament.

Alex Bump tied the score at 2-2 with his first NCAA frozen four goal and later added a primary assist to give the Broncos the lead over Michigan State on Friday night. A former 5th round (133 overall) pick in 2023, Bump came on strong as his freshman season progressed at WMU as he finished just short of a point-per-game with 36 points in 38 games, 14 goals and 24 assists.

Bump could prove to be a steal for the Flyers as the offensive tools are evident and he’s already built like an NHL player. Look for Bump to improve on his collegiate numbers next season.
