During this week’s 2023 NHL Draft Prospect review, we’re talking Quentin Musty of the OHL’s Sudbury Wolves.
Born on July 6, 2005, Quentin Musty had a huge sophomore season with Sudbury. At just 17 years old, Musty improved his point total by 47 points en route to a career high in goals (26), assists (52), and points (78).
With so many exciting prospects being talked about this time of year, Musty sometimes gets lost in the mix. But it’s not because of his lack of skill. According to Russ Cohen, it’s because he plays in the frozen tundra of Sudbury, Ontario where not many scouts travel during the course of a season.
Spoiler alert: We saw that Quentin Musty magic! 🪄

During the most recent HW Radio episode, which you can find above, Cohen talks about how Musty is a different kind of power forward.
Musty can get behind the defense with speed and can take a stretch pass to head on a 2-on-1. He has good speed, he’s an excellent two-way game, a good one timer, but a better wrist shot.
Every team would want Musty, not just the Flyers, but every team” said Cohen
It’s no secret the Philadelphia Flyers are a bit weak at left wing and an addition like Quentin Musty would significantly boost the position for the franchise.
A projected second line player with the potential to be a first line guy, Dobber Prospects’ Sebastian High calls Quentin Musty’s upside “astronomical”.
High praise.
Expect to see more coverage of Musty leading up to and during the NHL combine in Buffalo as he’s from the area and has spent a ton of time in Buffalo’s arena.
